Asia University have specially created the “Asia University 318” internationalization program, which enables students to have three language skills: Chinese, English and programming language. It helps students go abroad once during their studies, and provide eight ways to go abroad, including Short-term training, Exchange students, Joint dual-degree, Publishing thesis, Overseas internships, International volunteers, International design and invention competitions, and New southbound overseas internship program.
Overseas Internship
All departments cooperate with “AU 318 Internationalization Program” to provide students with opportunities to exchange and practice in overseas famous universities, institutions during winter and summer vacation. For example, Professor Chen Yinghui of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature led students to Singapore Changi Airport for internships, and many students were retained after graduation. Every year, 2 to 3 students from the Department of Fashion Design are selected to intern at Jason Wu’s company in New York, which has become one of the hallmarks of the Department of Fashion Design. The overseas internship program is subsidized by the Ministry of Education’s Overseas Internship Program and the New Southbound Overseas Internship Program. In the pastyears, Asia University has received a substantial amount of subsidies from the Ministry of Education for Overseas Internship Program, ranking first in the country in terms of the number and amount of subsidies for five consecutive years.
Spotlight Project
To encourage students to study abroad, the school regularly organizes overseas learning sharing briefings and cooperates with the Ministry of Education to organize "Highlight Programs". It provides students with a variety of learning opportunities and strengthens their international mobility. This is done by allowing them to participate in the winter and summer research courses of the world's top 100 famous universities.
Over the past four years, hundreds of students have been accepted into the world's top 100 universities. These include the University of Hong Kong, Victoria University in Canada, and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Summer School
Summer school is a special course offered by our school during the summer vacation. This program provides credit courses for both local and foreign students to develop interests or learn a second area of expertise . All courses are taught in English, creating an all-English environment, which helps local students improve their English skills in professional fields. As part of the international perspective strategy, local students can also interact with foreign students both inside and outside the classroom to gain a broader understanding of international issues. At the same time, the school provides a comprehensive bilingual administrative and academic support system for foreign students, with the goal to make studying at school easier for foreign students.
Friendly Environment
Asia University has a campus international dormitory, a Language Center as well as a Language Corridor, which aims to provide a friendly living and learning environment for our rapidly growing number of international students. The international dormitory also welcomes local students to apply. There they could interact and exchange language in daily life as a good way to cultivate international perspectives.
